As per our customer's requirement, they have send some of the materials to vendor for subcontracting. Recently we have check the stock status, there is some mismatch between physical stock and system stock. We are aware that some of the materials are may be used in assembly (subcontract) or may be scrapped. When i searched with forum i found that we can do 551 movement (scrap) or follow physical inventory process. Since we are not aware about physical inventory process. But, when i try to create physical inventory document, it's asking about storage location as mandatory. As per our scenario, stock is laid at vendor end there is no storage location at all. And one more thing some of the materials are very old and obsolete. What will be correct procedure to clear/adjust vendor end stock, what will be the movement we have to use and mainly what posting date we have to use? What will be the impact in FI side? Please guide us.
